The weekend of September 25th, 2010 we’ll be hosting our first hackathon at unLondon‘s new unLab.
We’ll be working out the details over the coming weeks but the idea is to hack together an application to help people find and remember their garbage pickup days.
Why garbage? Two other Canadian cities – Ottawa and Vancouver – made garbage applications very early on so it seemed like a good place to start. There are some cool technical complexities (GIS) in this project and a lot of really nice features we can bring to the table.
Have the skills to share with London but want to know more? Click here for more details.
We’ve setup a wiki to start the brainstorming – http://londontrash.pbworks.com. Please add any ideas you may have and/or articles (inspiration, examples, etc) that you think will help us get ready.
Sound good? If so, register here – http://ldntrashhack.eventbrite.com/
Keep your eye on this site for more details as the date draws closer.
